Policy in a Pub: Canada in the Age of Trump and Brexit

November 22, 2017

Are We Immune?

Many western democracies are witnessing rising populism and social fracture. Canada so far seems to have avoided these trends, but are we really immune to them? Is our sense of Canadian exceptionalism grounded in fact, or more of a myth?

Join us on November 22nd for a lively discussion of these topics with Michael Adams, author of Could It Happen Here? Canada in the Age of Trump and Brexit. Adams’ work draws on groundbreaking new social work to show whether Canadian society is at risk of the populist forces afflicting other parts of the world.

The Mowat Centre is committed to connecting professionals from across the broader public policy community by bringing together people from the public, private, non-profit, academic and media sectors. This discussion is part of our Policy in a Pub series, an ongoing opportunity to hear from each other and exchange ideas in an informal setting.
