Miles Corak is Professor of Economics at the University of Ottawa, where he has worked since 2007. His areas of expertise include labour markets, social policy, unemployment and unemployment insurance, social mobility, and income inequality. Professor Corak’s research focusing on inequality and social mobility, child poverty, unemployment, and access to university education has been cited often in major print and electronic media. His work has informed public policy in Canada and many other OECD countries.

Before joining the University of Ottawa, Professor Corak was a member of the senior management at Statistics Canada, and has also been a visiting researcher with UNICEF’s Innocenti Research Centre, the Centre for Longitudinal Studies at the University of London, the Office of Population Research at Princeton University. He is currently a visiting scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation in New York.
